ABOUT US
How we started

Pause With Paws was founded by Charlotte, a psychology with counselling graduate with specialist training in emotional wellbeing, animal assisted therapy and canine behaviour.
Her academic research explored how time spent with dogs can positively impact emotional wellbeing, stress levels, and feelings of connection, particularly during periods of overwhelm, grief, or transition.
Pause With Paws CIC combines this academic grounding with lived experience, ethical practice, and deep respect for both people and animals.
Don't Just Take Our Word For It.
Here's What People Say:
"I went to a lovely afternoon session with Pause With Paws Wellbeing and had a wonderful time just resting with the dogs, having cuddles, a bit of meditation time and tea and cookies. I came away feeling really relaxed and looking forward to the next session.
The girls who run the session are lovely and made time to chat with everyone and check in on how everyone was doing.
I took my two girls with me who are neurodivergent, one particularly does not like socialising, but they both loved it too. It was a great way to get my eldest out of the house and she was much more regulated than she often is after being in a social situation like that. There was no expectation on her to interact with humans if she didn’t want to and she loved playing with the dogs. My younger daughter is much more outgoing in comparison and has suspected ADHD so is usually bouncing off the walls, or upside down, but she calmed right down so the dogs would come for cuddles, the rest from the incessant action was actually really good for her too.
Thank you ladies, can’t wait for the next one."
